What do I have to do to become a VMUG Community Speaker?

VMUG offers a wide range of speaking opportunities for members throughout the year. From VMUG Connect events to Global Virtual gatherings and VMUG Webcasts, our goal is to deliver meaningful, community‑driven content all year long.

The best way to get started is by submitting your idea through our open Call for Content. Once submitted, our team reviews all proposals to ensure we’re bringing fresh, relevant, and high‑value sessions to the VMUG community.

What are the benefits of being a VMUG Speaker?

VMUG is proud to feature content created and delivered by our Community. The benefits you receive as a speaker will vary based on the type of event where your session is showcased. These may include complimentary event passes, travel cost support, as well as promotion across VMUG’s social media channels and email marketing.

All Community Speakers also receive a speaker kit to help spread the word—making it easy to promote your session and highlight your role as a VMUG Community Speaker.

What types of members are chosen to speak?

All kinds. VMUG Members are as diverse and rich as their stories and we are dedicated to bringing those diverse voices to virtual and in-person stages as often as possible. We encourage everyone to reach out if they are even remotely interested in sharing their expertise, experience or stories with their community.
