We’re pleased to share the news that VMware Cloud Director service is now generally available for use with Azure VMware Solution, a Microsoft Azure service that offers VMware infrastructure in the Azure cloud. Cloud Director service has been available as a VMware attached service for Azure VMware Solution in preview status for the past year. Our experience gathered over those months with multiple enterprises now up and running with Cloud Director services and Azure VMware Solution has met the strict standards needed to move it to general availability status.
VMware Tanzu Mission Control now adds support for Container Storage Interface (CSI) snapshot for backing up Kubernetes volumes in addition to the File System Backup (FSB) already provided. This addition improves application resiliency and introduces choice to platform operators offering point-in-time backups that are more current (i.e., recent data) and crash consistent. Learn more!
