For the first time ever, you can try out vSphere with Tanzu for 60 days without ever leaving the vSphere client! While you might be familiar with the VMware evaluation program that requires a My VMware login, we wanted to make evaluating Kubernetes on vSphere with Tanzu a lot easier. After you upgrade to vSphere 7 Update 1, click on the “Workload Management” section in the menu and you will see a simple form to enroll into the in-product evaluation. After you’re done filling that out you will have access to a fully functional live trial of vSphere with Tanzu!

Kubernetes Is Not Just Kubernetes—Ramp Up with These Eight Open Source Projects

Get a technical demo of Kubernetes automation with Cluster API, use Kubeapps and Harbor to provide easy access to new applications, utilize Antrea and Contour to improve network performance, visualize the cluster with Octant, measure conformance with Sonobuoy, and save the day with Velero.

Tutorial: How to Use VMware Tanzu Mission Control to Remediate Kubernetes Vulnerability CVE-2020-8554
The upstream Kubernetes community recently discovered a security issue—CVE-2020-8554— affecting multitenant clusters that allows anyone who is able to create a ClusterIP service and set the spec.external IPs field to intercept traffic to that IP address. There is no patch for this issue yet, and it can currently only be mitigated by restricting access to the vulnerable features.

Now, customers can centrally provision and manage the lifecycle of Tanzu Kubernetes clusters on vSphere 7 across multiple vCenter Server instances and/or multiple datacenters via Tanzu Mission Control.
