- VVS Licenses: Optimize VMware vSphere with VCP-VVF certification for personal, non-production use.
- No Training or Prerequisites Required: VMware’s updated certification policy (effective May 2024) removes barriers, making this the perfect time to certify.

How to Apply for Your Free VCP Exam
1.) Ensure Your Membership is Active: Join or renew VMUG Advantage before applying.
2.) Submit your Application: Share your goals and interest in VMware certification.
- Rolling Selection Process: Winners will be announced on these dates:
- Round 1: January 20
- Round 2: February 10
- Round 3: March 5
- Application Window Reminder: Applications are accepted from December 16, 2024, through February 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM CST
- Achieve Your Certification: Pass the VCP exam and unlock exclusive, personal-use licenses for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) or VMware vSphere Foundation (VVS)—benefits available only to VMUG Advantage members. These licenses are not available through any other program and are designed to enhance your expertise with VMware’s cutting-edge technology.

Only active VMUG Advantage members are eligible. If your membership is expired, you’ll need to renew it before submitting your application. Non-members must join Advantage to be considered.
Don’t worry! Your application automatically carries over to the next two rounds, giving you more chances to win.
You can apply for the VCP-VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) or VCP-VVF (VMware vSphere Foundation) certification.
Exam codes must be redeemed within 2025.
Scholarships are non-transferable and must be used by the winning applicant.
Once certified, you’ll gain access to exclusive VMware licenses for personal, non-production use starting March 2025.
- Winners are selected through a review process. Notifications will be sent after each selection round:
- Round 1: January 20
- Round 2: February 10
- Round 3: March 5
No, you can only apply for one certification path per application. Choose the certification that best aligns with your goals.
- Starting March 2025, VMUG Advantage members who complete a VCP-VCF or VCP-VVF certification will gain access to exclusive VMware licenses for personal, non-production use.
- VCP-VCF Certification: Unlocks VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) licenses.
- VCP-VVF Certification: Unlocks VMware vSphere Foundation (VVS) licenses.
- Licenses are valid for 3 years and require an active VMUG Advantage membership.
