On November 5, 2024, at VMware Explore in Barcelona, Broadcom announced a new program providing Advantage members with an exclusive pathway to obtain VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere Foundation (VVS) personal-use licenses.
This new program represents the evolution of EVALExperience within VMUG Advantage. To maintain access under the current process, all licenses must be downloaded by November 30, 2024, at 11:59 PM CST. Memberships purchased after this date will require participation in Broadcom’s new program, which includes successful completion of a VMware Cloud Foundation certification exam (VCP or VCAP) to qualify for a free personal-use VCF license, valid for up to 3 years.
If licenses are not downloaded by the November 30 deadline, access to the EvalExperience program will be unavailable until Broadcom’s VCP program rolls out. However, any licenses downloaded before the deadline will remain valid and accessible until 2025.
Broadcom is continuing to share updates about licensing, here is what they are saying.
