What benefits are available to Advantage members?
VMUG Advantage offers members access to 365-day Eval Experience licenses, 20% off VMware Training Courses, 20% off VMware Certification Exams, 35% off VMware Certification Prep, access to VMware TestDrive, and includes a $100 off discount on VMware Explore registration.
How much does VMUG Advantage cost?
The VMUG Advantage Subscription costs $210 per year for an individual subscription. Additional discounts are offered for groups, students and veterans.
What is the difference between Advantage and VMUG General (Free) Membership?
Your free VMUG membership is great for individuals who want to engage with the VMware community and access resources, free content and events, and networking opportunities. VMUG Advantage membership offers extensive benefits, especially valuable for professionals who need ongoing access to VMware products for testing, learning, and development, along with substantial discounts on training and certifications and VMware Explore.
I just signed up for Advantage, but cannot access licenses yet
Are you a New Advantage Member? As outlined in your welcome letter, it can take up to 1 full business day for your benefits to become associated with your account. Within that time frame, you will receive an email from [email protected] with instructions to access those benefits.
Are you a returning Advantage Member? Within 1 full business day, you will be able to log on and proceed with EVAL Experience as normal. You can follow this link to access your account: https://vmug.onthehub.com/WebStore/ProductsByMajorVersionList.aspx.
Please note that your license keys will not automatically renew and are only valid for 365 days from the point of download. If the licenses are showing as expired, you will need to redownload them again to access the new key.
I did not receive the email from noreply@kivuto and cannot access licenses
Once 1 full business day has passed since Advantage purchase, you can follow this link to access your account: https://vmug.onthehub.com/WebStore/ProductsByMajorVersionList.aspx. If you are a new member, you need to register your account through the above link and you should then see licenses within the store front.
How do I download the Eval Experience License keys?
To download the licenses, you will need to sign into the OnTheHub website. Once signed in, you will see a screen with several products listed for you under “VMUG Advantage”. Select the product you would like to receive the license key for.
A new screen will populate with the product name/s listed. Select “add to cart” and follow the “check out” process. You will then be able to select “download” and be given the serial number (license key) to access the 365-Day evaluation license! Follow this process for each license you are interested in using in your non-production, lab environment.
What is included in the EVALExperience product offering?
A 365-day evaluation license for use in a home lab for personal use only. These licenses may not be used in a production environment. To find a list of all products available in EvalExperience, click here: » EVALExperience (vmug.com).
How long do the product licenses last?
The product licenses available are 365-day evaluation licenses that require a one-time annual download along with the user’s annual renewal of the VMUG Advantage subscription.
May I combine my license with others’ licenses?
The VMware evaluation license may not be combined with others’ licenses.
How do I access new versions of licenses?
If you would like to access the latest versions, you will need to go to your account “order history” to find the license key. You will find the key you had previously downloaded. It is now associated with an updated version, so if you would like that version you will need to reapply it to your environment.
When will other products/product updates be added?
The EVALExperience program team will assess possible additional products on an ongoing basis with VMware. If you have recommendations on products you would like to see in the Advantage portfolio, please email [email protected] for feedback.
My licenses are expired, how can I get a new key?
License keys will not automatically renew with your subscription and are only valid for 365-days from the point of download. You will not be able to access the new keys before the 365-days has lapsed.
If your keys are showing as expired, you will need to redownload them from https://vmug.onthehub.com/WebStore/Security/Signin.aspx?rurl=%2fWebStore%2fProductsByMajorVersionList.aspx. This means you will add the existing product back to your cart and check out again, that is how the new key is generated.
Is support included with VMUG Advantage for EvalExperience Licenses?
The software is provided to VMUG Advantage subscribers with no associated entitlement to support services in association with the EVALExperience licenses.
What if I can’t find or never received my license key code?
Each downloaded license key is good for one year from download date. If you have lost your license key, please visit the “Your Account/Orders” section within Kivuto (https://vmug.onthehub.com/WebStore/Security/Signin.aspx?rurl=%2fWebStore%2fProductsByMajorVersionList.aspx). Your Order History will be listed and each license key will be visible for you to access.
When I renew VMUG Advantage, do I continue to use the same license keys?
Upon renewing your VMUG Advantage subscription, we will provide you with a new set of license keys that you can order through the Kivuto product store. There is no need to tear down your lab or re-download the product unless you are upgrading to the next version.
How do the discounts for VMware Courses work?
VMUG Advantage members receive 20% off of VMware courses. The discount for the course will automatically be applied when logging into MyLearn as long as the email address for Advantage and MyLearn are the same. This discount will not apply if the emails are different.
How do the discounts for VMware Certification Prep work?
VMUG Advantage Members save 35% off VMware Exam Preparation Workshop: Network Virtualization Certified Professional (VCP-NV). The discount for the prep course will automatically be applied when logging into MyLearn as long as the email address for Advantage and MyLearn are the same. This discount will not apply if the emails are different.
Do VMUG Advantage members have discounts on On Demand Courses through VMUG?
This is not an offering through VMUG Advantage at this time, the discount only applies to Live Instructor Led courses.
Can I get a discount on VMware Exams for being an Advantage Member?
Yes! VMUG Advantage members receive 20% off all VMware Certification Exams (VMware Certification ),excluding Delta and VCDX exams. This discount cannot be combined with other exams credits.
How do I access the discount for VMware Exams?
Unlike VMware courses, VMUG Advantage members will receive a discount code for VMware Exams. As a member, you will download the discount code from Kivuto (https://vmug.onthehub.com/WebStore/Security/Signin.aspx?rurl=%2fWebStore%2fProductsByMajorVersionList.aspx) and then apply it to the exam on MyLearn when you go to purchase the exam. Please do not order this discount code until right before you are ready to schedule the exam, it will expire if you do not use within 6 months of download.
How can I sign-up/purchase a group membership for my organization?
To purchase a group membership for your organization, go to the VMUG Store and click on the VMUG Group Advantage membership that you are looking for. Through the store you will provide the number of individuals, their first and last name and email addresses.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Accepted payment methods include check, credit card, or wire. VMUG does not accept Purchase Orders for Advantage.

Yes! You will see no taxes added to your VMUG Advantage membership
Does VMUG offer discounts for Veterans?
Yes! VMUG offers a 15% discount for 1 year Advantage memberships for all veterans. Please contact our team at [email protected] with verification status to receive this discount. This can be proof via ID, an active email address, etc.
Does VMUG offer discounts for Students?
Yes! VMUG offers a 15% off student discount 1 year Advantage memberships. Please contact our team at [email protected] with verification status to receive this discount. This can be proof via ID, an active email address, etc.
How much do VMUG Advantage members get off of VMware Explore?
Advantage members receive $100 off of their VMware Explore pass.
How do I get the discount for VMware Explore if I am an Advantage Member?
You must register for VMware Explore with the same email address associated with your VMUG membership. This discount cannot be combined with any other discounts (other than early bird) or group pass purchases. The discount should automatically apply at checkout.

How do I login to VMware TestDrive?
You can use your VMUG Advantage login credentials to log into VMware TestDrive through this link: VMware TestDrive (vmtestdrive.com). If you are unable to log in, please go to TestDrive Support | TestDrive Fundamentals | TestDrive (vmtestdrive.com) and speak with the TestDrive team about your issues logging in.
